Satellite by students

In an outstanding venture, 200 university students from across Europe have built and launched a satellite into space on 27th October.

Students from 12 European countries and 20 universities participated in this project. The name of the satellite is SSETI Express and has the size of a standard washing machine. The European Space Agency said that the satellite was launched into space by a Russian launcher from Plessetsk Cosmodrome centre, in northern Russia. On settling down into a successful orbit around the earth, the satellite is expected to encircle the planet from a height of 690km.
