Wind-powered mobile phone charger

Amit Sabherwal, a student of Master of Design programme at IIT, Delhi, has invented a wind-powered mobile phone charger from waste computer hardware with a manufacturing cost of only Rs. 1.50. The magnetic base of the charger can be attached to the top of your car or the visor of your helmet while driving.

These and many more innovations were showcased by the students of Master of Design programme at Design Show organized at the IIT campus in Delhi. The occasion was the 11th anniversary celebrations of the Master of Design programme at IIT Delhi. Prototypes on display ranged from space-saving furniture, a Road Runner, which looks like a pogo stick, perfume bottles designed for celebrities to futuristic tractor-like contraptions zipping around at top speed.
