Largest Hindi daily debuts in stock market
Shares in Indian newspaper publisher Jagran Prakashan Ltd. made their stock market debut on February 22 at 381.20 rupees, a 19 per cent premium to the Initial Public Offering at 320 rupees.
Jagran Prakashan, in which Ireland's Independent News & Media Plc, has just over a 20 per cent stake, publishes India's largest-selling daily newspaper, the Hindi-language Dainik Jagran. It also operates a television news channel.
Jagran Prakashan's issue of 11.54 million shares raised 3.7 billion rupees.
