The Madison Hotel has been named as one of the world's best hotels in the January issue of Travel + Leisure Magazine. The Madison is the only Memphis hotel and one of two hotels in the state to make the list of 500 hotels around the world.

The list is compiled from a readers' survery conducted by the magazine as well as input by the magazine's staff.

The 110-room Madison Hotel also received a AAA 4 Diamond award in 2005.

The 18-story hotel opened in Downtown Memphis in November 2001.
