Biotechnology trade exhibition

Malaysia’s third International Biotechnology Trade event, Biotechnology Asia 2006, will make its comeback in August.  

Feature exhibitions, conferences and awards, the event will be held from Aug 9 to 11 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur. 

The event is aimed at creating a platform to launch industry players onto the regional platform, as well as to enhance networking and growth in the industry. 

The three-day event is expected to attract more than 5,000 visitors from 15 countries.  

This year, the exhibition will showcase products and services from more than 100 companies in the region. It is expected to draw universities, research institutions, biotech companies and key sectors including agriculture, pharmaceutical, food and nutrition and nanotechnology.  

The exhibition received tremendous support last year and attracted 80 exhibitors comprising research institutions, universities and biotechnology companies. 

A two-day conference will be held concurrently with the exhibition, carrying the theme “Convergence of Biotechnology and Nanotechnology.”  

The conference will see the gathering of more than 400 delegates including corporate leaders, policymakers, researchers and entrepreneurs. It is expected to attract 20 speakers from Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Pakistan and Australia.
