Biocon is planning to develop an oral drug jointly with US-based Nobex Corporation for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. The two firms plan to file an application with the US Food and Drug Administration in 2007 and begin clinical trials later in that year.

The intent of the oral drug will be to have a product available for chronic use rather than only for acute use for a number of potential indications, including early-stage heart failure patients.
