Virgin aims to increase flights to India

Travellers to India will be pleased to hear that Virgin Atlantic is looking to increase capacity to the country and has improved its luxury service.

The UK airline has reported a huge increase in demand for flights to India and is looking to double its capacity on services from London to New Delhi and Mumbai.

The company is also thinking of launching direct connections to Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore in the south of India.

As well as offering more seats for passengers travelling to India, the airline on May 9 launched its Upper Class Suite on all India routes, which features reclining leather seats that double up as beds. Virgin Atlantic ( India) chief executive Joe Thompson believes the luxury service will attract more customers.

"With this, we are expecting a 15 to 20 per cent passenger increase in the upper first class," he said.
