India-Mauritius to jointly develop tourism infrastructure

Mauritius on February 14 said it would further strengthen cooperation with India in the area of tourism and culture and explore investment opportunities for development of tourism infrastructure.

Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism Minister of Mauritius, Charles G Z Lue Duval, who is on a visit to India, met Tourism Minister Ambika Soni and expressed keenness to exchange expertise in the area of island tourism, HRD and joint marketing of tourist destinations, an official release said here in New Delhi.

India would extend expertise for preservation of heritage buildings and HRD in the hospitality sector.

Both sides agreed to include tourism as a key area in the comprehensive economic agreement between the two countries.
