Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has retained its number one position for the sixth month in succession in terms of new business premium income among private life insurers, as per the latest IRDA results for December 2005.

Bajaj Allianz, the fastest growing life insurance company with 301 per cent growth for the nine month period ending December 2005, had done new business worth Rs 351.2 crore in December 2005, a growth of over 467.3 per cent, as against Rs 61.9 crore in the same period in 2004, a company release here said.

The market share among private sector companies in December 2005 was 32 per cent, compared to 12.2 per cent in December 2004, the release said.

Company Chief Executive Officer Sam Ghosh said ''for the last six months, in new business we have the number one position as per the IRDA results. This is a clear reinforcement of our belief in decentralised management practices and also to our constant endeavour of introducing wide array of customised insurance solutions that cater to all possible segments of customers.
