Second Lakme Fashion show in Mumbai from October

The second edition of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) will also be held in Mumbai from October 31 to November 4, the organisers announced.

A day after the Maharashtra government gave a clean chit to the organisers of the fashion show with Home Minister R R Patil describing the 'wardrobe malfunctions' an accident, State Legislative Council Chairman, Shivajirao Deshmukh, directed the government to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident following a demand cutting across the political spectrum.

Describing the inaugural LFW " a great success ", Lakme Lever vice-president, Anil Chopra, said "We are happy to hold this premier event once again in Mumbai. Our continued efforts to organise a world-class fashion week is a reiteration of our long-term commitment to the growth of the fashion industry in India."

IMG senior vice-president, Ravi Krishnan, said "the dates for Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer have been finalised taking into account the domestic and international fashion calendar.... and to attract even more participation from the domestic and global fraternity."

IMG is a company which organises fashion weeks and event production.
