While addressing an All Indian Handloom Board Meeting, Textile Minister Shankersinh Vaghela, said that Government is planning to undertake a census of handloom sector and to give 10 percent rebate scheme.

In next two months, promotional schemes for the handloom sector will be launched as mentioned in budget speech, said Vaghela.

In last fiscal year, 2.62 lakh weavers were covered under Health Insurance Scheme and 2.05 lakh workers under Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Bima Yojana, Vaghela informed.
