Daimler Chrysler to launch Actros by the end of 2005 Daimler Chrysler India

Daimler Chrysler India will launch the imported CBU (Complete Build-up Unit) - Actros by the end of the year 2005. The company would be coming out with two models, a 33-tonner and a 40-tonner. Both the models would be CBUs and the company is looking at sales of about 100 to 200 vehicles per annum. The pricing of the vehicles is yet to be decided upon and they are not likely to be manufactured at Pune. Mercedes Benz, for the first six months of 2005, had sold about 1,053 cars as compared to 923 vehicles in 2004.

As for the Maybach, the Rs 6 Crore car launched in 2004 in India, about three vehicles had been sold so far. The company had estimated sales of around seven to eight vehicles for the first year of its launch.
