Career workshop for students

A career planning workshop planned for students aged 14 to 18 was held by the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI) in association with Indian Ladies Association (ILA) at Bahrain Carlton Hotel.

It was organised in co-operation with CIGI Bahrain Chapter and Falcon Toastmasters.

Indian Ambassador Balkrishna Shetty was the chief guest at the event, which was attended by about 100 parents and students.

Also present were CIGI Bahrain patron Veeravu Saleem, Falcon Toastmasters president Manzoor Moideen, ILA president Vani Krishnan, vice-president Bhavna Shah and secretary Asha Srinivas.

The ILA and CIGI are also conducting related workshops and seminar at the Bahrain Carlton Hotel from Saturday to Monday from 4.30pm to 9.30 pm.

A career-planning workshop, a seminar on Differential Aptitude Test (DAT), discussions, post-test career session and a one-to-one parent counseling will be held during the period.

The course is BD15 per student that covers all the three-day workshop and parent counseling.

The workshops will be conducted by trainers and education experts from India who are currently on a Gulf tour to hold DAT workshops in Doha and Kuwait.

The aim of the event is to enlighten parents and students on the importance of career planning and will introduce a career planning approach that can be easily adopted to choose various options.
