IIT Kanpur to educate masses about new research

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthy Medical College have agreed to collaborate with a view to educate the masses about their new researches and create awareness about the problems caused by environmental pollution.

After signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the Director of IIT Kanpur S.G. Dhande and Principal of GSVM medical coltege S.K. Katiyar told reporters that the agreement would set the stage for collaboration between the two institutes on multiple fronts.

The two institutes would educate people about the findings of researches conducted by them. In the field of education, they agreed to jointly organise symposiums, conferences, short courses and meetings on research issues, besides carrying out research and continuing education programmes. The two institutes would exchange information pertaining to developments in teaching programmes besides sharing educational resources.

In the field of research, they proposed to conduct research involving the expertise of their faculty, and promote generation of research funds.
